I will be joined Saturday night by two accomplished musicians. Don Beyer on bass, and Chuck Mauk on drums, who (I think) are one of the best rhythm sections you're likely to hear. We're working on a CD of original tunes which we'll perform, along with a variety of familiar songs. Looking forward to a fun filled evening, hope to see you all there.
A former member of the bluegrass band the “Diamonds in the Rough,” I’ve been playing music in different genres for many years. Beginning with a rock and roll band during high school days, and moving to acoustic folk rock and an emphasis on songwriting throughout the college years. After a middle age hiatus, the past fifteen years have been busy with several musical endeavers.Am currently playing in an acoustic duo with blues harmonica player Dan “Mudfoot” Hubbs, playing occasionally with a group of fellow songwriters from Bowling Green called the “Long Lost Brothers,” working on a jazz / swing trio with an upright bassist and a trumpet player, and of course playing solo gigs.I enjoy trying to cover those songs that are familiar, but not heard that often. The goal being to hear people say, “That’s a great song, I haven’t heard that forever.” Songwriting, however, will always be my first love. and to that end have been writing many things the past few years.
